ASCOLI & WEIL is retained directly by a large number of major local insurance companies and international insurance and reinsurance groups and Lloyd’s Syndicates. We are also represent, on a non-exclusive basis, international adjusting groups such as Braemar Technical Services (Adjusting) Limited, Context BV, Charles Taylor Adjusting Marine, Richards Hogg Lindley (part of the Charles Taylor Group) and Equijust Ltd (specialised in BBB, D&O, E&O, etc.).
We are claims agents for the Allianz, AXA, Zurich, Generali, HDI Gerling, Helvetia, The Baloise, The Tokio Marine Kiln & Nichido Fire groups, as well as for a great number of other companies based in Switzerland, ltaly, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Belgium, Poland, Finland, Japan and many other countries around the world.
We also act regularly upon instructions of RSA London and GARD on H&M matters, especially involving river fleets operating along the Hidrovia (Parana-Paraguay rivers waterway).
lnvestigations and surveys are often carried out for the US and Canadian markets.
As local representatives of Comisariado Español Marítimo, Comité d’Etudes et de Services des Assureurs Maritimes et Transports de France and Verein Hanseatischer Transportversicherer e.V.(VHT), we assess marine losses and carry out pre-shipment inspections, risk surveys and condition surveys of vessels.
ASCOLI & WEIL has representatives in most major Argentine ports and towns. We have a correspondent office in Montevideo, Uruguay, which is directly controlled by the Buenos Aires office.
The firm surveys and adjusts losses in Argentina and Uruguay, and also in Paraguay, Bolivia, Chile, Brazil, Peru and Ecuador. When the need arises, we travel to other Latin American countries or intervene via a network of local associates. Such instructions from Reinsurers concern mainly non-marine matters (Aviation Liability, D&O, E&O, BBB, etc). We also handle claims under a Personal Accident & Illness scheme for Lloyd’s Syndicates throughout Latin-America.
